Do I need headphones?
For binaural beats, yes. A binaural beat is the difference between two slightly different tones, one in each ear, so it only exists when each ear hears its own. Resona also offers isochronic and monaural programmes, which are single pulsed tones, and those work on a speaker.
What are binaural beats?
Two steady tones a few hertz apart, one per ear. What you hear is a third, slower pulse at the difference between them: play 200 Hz and 208 Hz and you hear an 8 Hz beat. Resona synthesises both tones live rather than playing a file, which is what lets the beat frequency move while you listen.
Is Resona a medical product?
No. Resona is a wellness app for relaxation and focus. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you live with epilepsy or a seizure disorder, talk to your doctor before using any brainwave entrainment audio.
Does it work without a connection?
Everything except the shared chart. The audio is generated on your iPhone, there is nothing to download, and every session and reading is stored on the device. With no connection the chart shows your own constellation and says plainly that the shared sky is not reachable.
Can people message each other?
Not in any way you could type. You can hold somebody's point, or send one of eight fixed phrases through it, and they can answer once from the same eight. There is no free text, no thread, no profile and no name on either side. Every message that can exist on this chart is one we wrote, which is why none of it needs a moderation queue.
What leaves my iPhone?
Only a star, and only if you place one: one word from a fixed list of sixty, the length of the session, the band, and how far you moved. If you send somebody one of the eight words, that goes too. No name, no account, no e-mail address. Find Your Note analyses your hum on the device and never records or uploads any audio.
Which iPhone do I need?
Any iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Resona is a native app of a few megabytes and there is nothing to download inside it, because every session is synthesised rather than streamed.
